In April TCP and TPC combined forces at Parkex, Europe’s largest dedicated parking exhibition. The main theme of the stand was ‘Be Prepared’, focusing on two major pieces of legislation taking effect this year.
TPC were keen to raise the awareness of the Traffic Management Act (2004) and build contacts with local authorities, who need to start planning now for its implementation.
Also on offer was expert guidance relating to the Scottish Disabled Persons Parking Bill, which will make parking in disabled spaces an offence punishable by a fixed penalty. A specially made CCTV style film played on a large plasma screen, with clear messages that caught the attention of exhibition visitors. TPC also gave away branded car key fobs, which proved universally popular.
